Executive Director Bio
Nancy Ball
Executive Director
Boys & Girls Club of Clermont County
Nancy Ball was named the Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Clermont
County in December 2001. She made the transition from for-profit to non-profit in
1997 after acquiring more than 20 years of management experience in business
industry and sales. That experience included the launching of her own successful
business which she sold in 2002 after accepting the position of Executive Director
of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Clermont County.
Prior to 1997, Nancy gained experience in the non-profit world as a dedicated
volunteer for several youth serving organizations. She served in a number of
positions including: Committee of Management for the Nell-Gross Branch YMCA;
Service Unit Director for Great Rivers Girl Scout Council; and in Outdoor Education
Programming for Wyoming City Schools.
Ball’s experiences in business management, non-profit, and youth development
have helped to increase the organization’s budget from $100,000 in 2001 to a
projected $410,000 for 2008, tripled the number of staff, opened a second club,
and increased the number of children served annually from 400 to over 1500.
On any given day, a non-profit CEO wears many hats and could legitimately take
on many titles, CFO, Marketing Director, Development Director, Strategic
Planner... the list is endless. Here’s one you may not have thought of: Dream
Keeper. That’s the title that Nancy Ball has chosen for herself.
“It’s more of a life title, she explained. “I was challenged to write a personal mission
statement. Mine is to inspire and enable others, especially children, to dream and
achieve their dreams. Dream Keeper sums it up for me.”
While her official title remains executive director, her business card identifies her
as the Dream Keeper for the organization, a decision approved by her Board of
Directors. “It keeps me focused on doing what I believe in. And I get a lot of
questions about it, so I have many opportunities to explain my work at the Boys
and Girls Club, and share my passion for the organization.”
