Black Tie Auction
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Clermont County held their 4th annual Over the
Rainbow dinner gala and auction at Paul Brown Stadium on March 15th.
Roughly 300 people attended the black-tie affair which raised over $61,000
to support Boys & Girls Club programs in Clermont County.
The voice of the Bengals, Dave Lapham, volunteered his time to serve as
Emcee and celebrity auctioneer, as did guest speaker UC Bearcats’ Coach
Brian Kelly. The event included dinner, silent auction, live auction, and
dancing to the music of The FlatRock Band who performed until midnight.
The top selling auction item was The Ultimate Dinner Party, a dinner for 10 in
your own home, prepared by Jeff Ruby’s Executive Chef, Jimmy Gibson, and
Sous Chef Britney Ruby-Miller and served by Cincinnati Bengals Linebacker
Caleb Miller. Other auction items included a puppy, a private fireworks party
with live music and barbeque dinner for 40, and a visit to the Bengals’
training camp with Dave Lapham.
During the brief program, Executive Director Nancy Ball introduced Ms.
Annalise Higgs as the Club’s 2008 Youth of the Year. Anna will represent
Clermont County at the State of Ohio Youth of the Year competition on April
19th. Ms. Higgs spoke to the audience about what the Boys & Girls Club
means to her and how it has impacted her life. She was accompanied by the
2008 Youth of the Year Runner-Up, Ms. Erica Groh, and 4 of the past 5 years’

up to provide funding to help open a Boys & Girls Club in Felicity this
coming summer.
